I'm a graphic designer based in Kansas City with a passion for intentional, audience-first design. My approach isn't defined by a single aesthetic or style, it's defined by a commitment to communication. Every project starts with understanding the client, the goal, the message, and the people it needs to reach. From there I research, strategize, and problem-solve my way to solutions that don't just look good, but actually work. Whether that means clean minimalism, bold color, a unique illustration style, or something I've never done before, if it serves the project, it's the right choice.
I currently work at YellowBug Creative as the agency's sole designer, which has meant taking on a scope of responsibility that goes well beyond a typical entry-level role. I lead projects end-to-end across brand identity, environmental design, illustration, web, print, campaign, and media, managing client relationships directly, translating needs into creative direction, and seeing complex, multi-deliverable projects through from strategy to completion. I coordinate with vendors and printers, present and defend creative decisions, and stay accountable to both the client's goals and the integrity of the work. Before this, I served as Editor in Chief of the Tower Yearbook at Northwest Missouri State University, leading a staff of designers, writers, and photographers to three consecutive ACP Pacemaker awards. I also took on freelance design clients for several years alongside my studies.
When I'm not creating, I'm usually doing something that requires the same patience and attention. Tending to an embarrassingly large collection of houseplants, photographing nature, traveling and checking off a list of National Parks (6 down, a lot to go), and cheering on the KC Current. I'm an active member of KC Ad Club, and I'm always reading something about design theory or human psychology, because I believe understanding people is what makes the work matter, and genuinely caring about things is what makes you better at whatever you do.
