Sports Media, Social & Print Design
NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY • SUMMER 2023

Project Overview
Northwest Missouri State University Athletics needed a consistent stream of engaging visual content across multiple sports over the course of a summer internship. The work spanned season schedule posters, player spotlight graphics for every player across every sport, conditional athlete recognition graphics, game tickets, social media content, and event promotional materials, all maintained within the established Bearcat Athletics brand system.
My Contributions
Sports media design was new territory for me and the pace and volume pushed me to work efficiently and systematically. Designing player spotlight posters for every player across every sport resulted in 500+ individual graphics, which required learning automation and batch production techniques to manage the workload within the timeline. I coordinated and participated in media days and photo shoots across multiple teams and worked those assets directly into the design system. Within the brand constraints I had full creative freedom, and used previous graphics as reference while also exploring new directions of my own. The "Who's the Bearcat" social series was a concept I developed to create interactive alumni recognition and engagement, a format that was new to the program. Social media activation for a broad athletics audience was also a different challenge from the editorial social work I had done previously, and it pushed me to think differently about audience, timing, and engagement.
Results
A full season's worth of visual content delivered independently across multiple sports within a condensed summer timeline, maintaining brand consistency while bringing new formats and ideas to the program.
